Emotions benefit you every day.
You would never give up love, joy, gratitude, hope, anticipation, surprise, admiration, enthusiasm, and more. Emotions allow you to feel confident, cheerful, kind, and interested.
Even less desirable emotions serve a purpose. They protect you from dangerous people, situations, and behaviors. They tell you what you don’t like and don’t want. They can motivate, inspire, and propel you forward.
Thank goodness we have them!
On the other hand, difficult emotional patterns and unwanted behaviors rooted in trauma do not serve you. They are hurting you. They may also be hurting your relationships, career, goals, dreams, your life.
